🌿 Reimagining the Dov Altman Laneway
Work continues behind the scenes on the Dov Altman Laneway Improvement Project — a collaborative community initiative led by the Cedarvale Upper Village Community Group (CUVCG), the Upper Village BIA, and Councillor Josh Matlow’s office.
The project aims to transform the laneway between Glen Cedar Road and Menin Road into a safer, greener, and more inviting public space for residents, families, and local businesses.
Planned improvements include: upgraded paving, a new retaining wall, landscaping and planting features, public art and mural elements, and enhanced placemaking opportunities designed to bring new life and character to the corridor. The project also reflects a broader vision of creating more people-friendly neighbourhood spaces and improving connections within the community.
Construction is anticipated to move forward this spring/summer, with additional updates to be shared as timelines are finalized.
This project represents an exciting example of how under utilized spaces can be reimagined into vibrant community assets that support local identity, walkability, and neighbourhood connection.
