Ward 12 Councillor, Josh Matlow, has indicated that he is considering replacing Toronto-St.Paul’s MP, Carolyn Bennett.  Bennett recently announced her retirement from federal politics after 26 years in office.

Others eyeing the nomination in this Liberal riding include former senior ministerial staffer Leslie Church, former city councillor Josh Colle, and former Ontario health minister Eric Hoskins.

Josh Matlow ran for mayor in the last election, and given this latest announcement, he is clearly set on entering higher-level politics.

The by-election to replace Bennett hasn’t been announced yet, but the earliest it can take place is Monday, March 4th.
